Cycling in Mexico travel article published in City Life Magazine

I’ve had some ridiculous ideas in my time, but deciding to cycle 250 miles across Mexico with 40 strangers for charity has to be pretty high on the list. At home in Chorlton on a cold November night, I was having second thoughts. Maybe cycling up and down the Mersey a few times wasn’t sufficient training for a six-day slog across the Yucatan Peninsula in 80 degree heat. Maybe my fellow cyclists would all be middle aged divorced software engineers from Swindon, or worse still, have buttocks of steel, a backpack full of shiny Lycra  and tales of training jaunts in the Pyrenees.
